One of the most important aspects of a playground is safety. In a place where kids will be playing you want to put safety first and foremost. This requires some thinking and ensuring that everything from the landscape edging to the equipment is kid friendly. Everyone thinks that if an item is made for kids then it is safe. But, this is not the case at all and there are actually many items that are manufactured for kids that are unsafe. This means when you are designing a playground it is important to evaluate the items that you will use, including things like playground borders, to ensure they are safe for the kids. You will also want to ensure things like sandboxes, swings, slides, and more all pass inspection and are safe for children. Doing this work up front will make the playground safer for the kids and a better project overall. So, do a little bit of research before you begin designing a playground. You can learn from people’s past mistakes and improve upon them while making the playground a great place for kids. With just a little bit of extra time you will make a huge difference by creating a safe playground.
